2019 saw our allotment really flourish (sorry for the pun!). We really saw the project develop in to its own with parts of our vision finally being realised.

Early in the year, further plots were cultivated ready for the planting of additional vegetables. This enabled us to provide further produce to the local community and to our partners The Trust House. This enabled the distribution of free meals from our community centre to the local people.

This year also saw us use the poly tunnel to its full potential for the first time, this enabled us to develop crops first before planting them onto plots in the allotment, and it has definitely made life easier for our volunteers. Not only that, it has enabled us to grow far more than we have done before!

2019 saw us lose one of our dear friends of the allotment. Ivor Duckells enjoyed his time coming to the allotment and looking at the progress we made over time, his family generously made a donation in his name after he passed away. We couldn’t think of anything more fitting than planting an apple tree and plaque in his name.
